This research looks at the work of herbal medicine. It is a form of different treatment for several disorders and plant developed drugs which are adding popularity both in developing and developed countries due to their natural origin and less side results in the last few years. The review of the selected plant Calanthe triplicata provides evidence for its medicinal properties. The main objective of this work is to formulate a new herbal gel with the capability of topical drug delivery. Formulations using different excipients by changing the polymer ratio are prepared. All the five formulations are appraised to facilitate spread ability, extrude ability, pH, viscosity, diffusion, drug content determination and in-vitro skin irritation test. Among the five formulations, F3 is selected as a best formulation based on the values of evaluation parameters.

Tannin Acyl Hydrolase is an enzyme that hydrolyzes esters and depside bonds of hydrolysable tannins. They are widely used in the food and beverage, pharmaceutical and chemical industries. The objective of this work was to evaluate the production of tannase by Colletotrichum gloeosporioides URM 7130, using submerged fermentation. At the same time, the enzymatic application was made in green tea and its effect was evaluated. For optimization were used Plackett-Burman and Doehlert designs. The total antioxidant activity total tannins and phenolics were evaluated. Results of enzymatic activity indicated 79.39 ± 0.33 U / mL. It was verified a reduction of 12.75% of the tannin content and it was possible to increase in 24.87% the phenolic compounds and 4.45% in the antioxidant activity. The results suggest that the green tea studied can be used as an alternative of consumption as functional foods, since it increased its antioxidant activity.

Dengue, malaria and typhoid are endemic in southern part of India representing a major health problems. Co-infections of dengue with malaria, other bacterial or viral infections has been described in many parts of the world. However there are only two cases of triple infection in adults reported anywhere in literature to our knowledge. We report a rare case of triple infection in 4 yr old female child. A 4 yr old female child was admitted in the hospital with chief complaints of fever associated with chills, abdominal discomfort. Outside reports shown positive for malaria, typhoid at 1:80 dilutions and also shown positive for Ig M and Ig G antibodies in dengue serology suggesting it as a case of triple infection. She was started with intravenous artesunate, amikacin, cefoperazone + sulbactam, along with the symptomatic treatment. Good prognosis was observed to the treatment and was discharged after the normalisation of the condition.
